Excitingly different! - Obsidian Take Down Bow from JACKALOPE
The JACKALOPE Obsidian Take Down is handmade in the finest European craftsmanship from high-quality and innovative materials. The handle, for example, is made up of three different layers of wood, giving it its unmistakable character. The two outer layers are made of elegant black-grey Teknowood, an ultra-modern material made of several layers of wood. In contrast, the handle is made of beautiful, sturdy Amazoque, a tropical wood that is particularly appealing because of its warm colours. The limbs are made of Spiderwood, specially selected for bow making, which is coated with black glass. All this together makes the JACKALOPE Take Down bows fast, forgiving and very quiet.
Particularly striking about the Amber Refined Take Down is the unusual shape of the handle, which looks very modern in its design and reminds of waves. The grip area is especially strongly formed here and moves slightly forward in comparison to "normal" handle. This gives the bow more contact surface on the hand and at the same time a better balance.
Another detail, perhaps not so obvious in its perfection, is the hand-cut transitions from the handle to the limbs. The handle merges seamlessly into the limbs and makes forget that this is a three-piece bow. The elegant design can also be seen in inconspicuous details.
The name is as extraordinary as the bows are innovative! The Obsidian is a gemstone with very special and important characteristics for shooters. Thus this elegant, black stone made of lava glass not only protects against negative energies but also helps to realize one's own goals. It promotes perception and strengthens inner peace and patience. A thoroughly successful choice of name for the flawless JACKALOPE Obsidian Bows.
SPEED - Carbon for even more speed
In the speed versions, the JACKALOPE obsidian is now even faster! An additional layer of carbon improves the already good-natured characteristics of the bow. It makes the bow more forgiving and provides a narrower more accurate hit pattern when shooting. But how does it achieve this? Quite simple: Due to the carbon inlay, the limbs are not only lighter and more distortion-resistant but also about 10fps faster.

Determination of the draw hand
The draw hand is the hand that pulls the string. This means that a right-hand bow is held in the left hand and pulled out with the right hand.
The determination of the personal draw hand has far less to do with whether one is left or right-hand than one might initially assume. Rather, it is a matter of determining the dominant eye. The dominant eye is used for targeting. This automatically results in the draw hand.
The term "dominant eye" refers to the eye the visual information of which superimposes everything. If a shooter would try to aim with the other eye, he would have to pinch the dominant eye.
There are two ways to determine the dominant eye: On the one hand, it is the eye that is generally preferred, for example when looking through the viewfinder of a camera, through the spyhole or similar situations. On the other hand, there is a small exercise with which the dominant eye can be determined beyond doubt:
- The arms are stretched out and with thumb and index fingers of both hands, a triangle is formed.
- The triangle is used to target a small target, such as a power socket or a cabinet knob. This object is focused.
- The hands are now slowly moved towards the face without the target being taken out of focus.
- The triangle of thumb and index fingers will automatically incline to one half of the face and the dominant eye will lie within it.
If eye and hand dominance do not match, the bow should still be selected according to eye dominance. The arms can easily be trained on the new draw hand, the eye cannot.
